For some time now, a’open innovation, open innovation. It is a new strategic and cultural approach whereby companies, to create more value and compete on the market, do not rely solely on internal R&D (research and development) resources, but also seek ideas, solutions, tools, and technological skills externally. Perhaps coming from lean and flexible entities such as freelancers and micro-brands, startups, universities, research institutes, and consultants, who have a different and “fresher” vision.

Thanks to open innovation, it is possible to develop the network through which to access complementary information and resources, encouraging our beloved cross-pollination. This approach to innovation entails a change in internal culture, and consequently in business processes, the business model, and job profiles. Okay, it is not simple, that is true. And there must be a very strong willingness on the part of the company itself to step up and take a risk.
